Gracious! Definitely strength-building. Thank you! And great cueing, as usual, especially in the first plank. I always learn something new about my alignment in Rachel's classes.

The key word in this practice is "power." Poses and positions held a little long, but nothing too difficult to keep up or modify for an intermediate level. I think of this practice as a good way to awaken some muscles I've been neglecting while away from my regular practice.

OK Rachel, with most yoga practices we allow the body to warm up and gather some heat. So why do you begin immediately with an elbow plank and hold it for how long (?) ... one minute? I fortunately went for a 60 minute "warm up" run before the practice ... but my partner had not ... it was brutal!

Yah, oh my gosh, I know, it's a doozy! In this sequence, the forearm plank IS the warm up. It's an accessible pose (meaning you don't have to be flexible to get into it) and (obviously) it builds heat and intensity quickly. In my world, power styles classes cultivate intensity quickly and are an invitation to a bit of a butt kicking. A flow style practice would be more movement and mobility oriented off the top, which would probably categorize more of my teaching on this site. With all these practices, you are absolutely empowered to modify them (put your knees down, take a break) if the scales tip from "challenging" to "brutal" :)

This was a great class. Can you do a I hr session like this with some standing poses? Your cues are perfect.

Was short on time. Needed a quick, energetic class. This is what I was looking for and my body felt great afterwards! Definitely will be doing this class again. Thanks!

Great class! The verbal instructions were spot on, making it easier to focus on the poses and not the screen. Thank you so much!

This was one of my first classes with Rachel and I just love her emphasis on alignment. I never thought the subtle movements of my feet would make such a difference!

This is a good practice if you'd like guidance on alignment, positioning, and body awareness through most poses. Rachel is really good at explaining what's important. Poses are held longer than in a flow class, which is good for strength as the title suggests! Still, this one is on the lighter side so it's totally accessible for someone with a regular practice.

One of my favorites on this site! I keep coming back to it when I want a mini-workout with my yoga and I'm short on time. I love how clear Rachel's instructions are- even a beginner wouldn't have an issue following her. Thanks for a lovely practice, Rachel!

Great flow...probably not meant for the day after leg day lol.
Thank you for a great sequence.
Your style of teaching resonates with my own style so interesting to listen to it as a student.

This was amazing! I’m in that middle area between beginner and intermediate and this is perfect for that “place”. I can also see it being good for an intermediate who wanted to slow things down for a bit but still wants to work! Good job!

Thank you for an energising session. I checked my heart rate during the flow and I was just below 70% of my maximum heart rate which is a high moderate level of aerobic exercise. Happy days! If I work harder it will increase which means i would be getting even more heart benefit. Lovely!

Loved this half hour stretch and strengthening sequence. Both familiar and new. 30 minutes ago I was groggy. Now, my mind and body are buzzing and I even broke a sweat. Thanks for this great option, Rachel.

Another fab sequence from Rachel - really hit the spot the morning in awakening the body & mind from the off. Any class that starts with a forearm plank is going to do that! The sequence itself was so interesting, dynamic - familiar poses taught with such precision, enthusiasm and imagination just makes me want to do it all over again. Thank you Rachel.

I loved this class, but it's not what I would call a "flow" class. Definitely more holding poses and repetitions of movements to build strength and heat. - quite a little workout, actually! Nice way to get moving this morning - challenging but ultimately relaxing. Thank you, Rachel!
