14-Day Yoga Challenge: Day Thirteen
Day thirteen introduces 'true twists', and fills the class full of them! You will also be strengthening and stretching your shoulders with planks and binds, strengthening and stretching the legs with chair pose and lunges and spending some time with some satisfying floor poses to lead you into a sweet sivasana. I often find it more difficult to do yoga first thing in the morning - but today was quite packed, so it was 6.45am or not at all! I was amazed at how much freedom was created throughout the practice and how much strength has developed over the last 13 days. I'll be sad tomorrow when the challenge ends for me, and incredibly grateful for sharing this wonderful opportunity.
Twists are always uncomfortable for me--as a 38 year old woman who has only been practicing yoga for a year, I feel like I will never have full flexibility in my spine, but I have seen some incremental improvements during the challenge. This is a class I plan to revisit regularly to really work on that area of weakness in my practice. Thanks for always inspiring me to accept where I am at the moment, Fiji!
Thanks to the foundation laid by first 12 days of class, I was able to flow through this challenging 13th day. Thanks for your inspiration and guidance, Fiji. Here's to my new favorite word - Namaste :-)
I achieved much better twists during this session because of the 12 consistent days of work leading up to it. There is truly no better way than to break up a day snowed in! Thank you for your clear and mindful instruction, Fiji. It's wonderful to see and feel such clear progress!
