This is the final class in a series of three that help you move into the challenging arm balance, firefly pose (tittibhasana). Building on what you learned in Firefly Pose: Arm Strength, and Firefly Pose: Strengthen and Lengthen, Fiji targets flexibility in the legs, hips and back, shoulder strength/flexibility and core strength before moving into the peak pose in this class. If you have never been able to do firefly pose or haven't tried it yet, this may be your answer. Fiji's design of this peak pose challenge is about as good as it gets. Good luck!

I can’t believe I actually got into the pose! Only for a few seconds but I actually did it!

Nice class, but if I don't warm up my wrists before attempting poses like this or crow I end up hurting myself :( I also would't be able to come off the ground in this pose without using a block under each hand.

This was inspiring. I didn’t get into the pose. Partly my mind didn’t seem ready, but I think largely everything fel super tight in my lower body, hamstrings, hips, groin. Is there more practices that work toward this pose, but perhaps a few steps before this practice?

I have very tight ankles/short achilles tendons and am not able to squat with my feet flat on the floor (nor have I ever been in the 25 years ive practiced yoga). Do you have any suggestions for me to work towards doing firefly? I'm not able to even balance my legs on my arms because I cant get my feet flat -- my hands are not providing a steady enough base. Thank you!!

Hi Robin, it is probably the actual structure of your ankle that inhibits the movement! I have limited flexibility in my ankles too. You could try approaching this pose with sturdy blocks under your hands!
